We celebrated the completion of our beautiful garden room on Saturday 15th April. The weather was lovely, and it was great to see so many of the wonderful people that have gotten us to where we are now.
We had delicious canapes from West Herts College and a glass or two of Prosecco.
Watford’s Elected Mayor, Peter Taylor cut the ribbon, with our Founder Jane Johnson, to officially open the building. This will be our new cafe from Saturday 13th May.

We had speeches from Watford’s elected Mayor Peter Taylor, our founder Jane Johnson and from some of our amazing volunteers.
We heard from Jenny, our garden manager, who told us how much it means to her to be able to volunteer for Random Cafe and for Penniwells, riding for the disabled. We also heard from Dan who said he has grown in confidence since being a volunteer at Random Cafe, and how much he has learnt about sustainability and renewable resources. This has helped him with his studies to become an engineer. The speeches from Jane and Alex painted a picture of the journey of Random Cafe to where we are now, and the plans for the future.
We are now preparing the garden room to become our full-time cafe, and we are looking forward to inviting you to come and have a look from 13th May.
