For a while we have been planning to have a multi-purpose space to allow us to expand on the activities we can offer. Work started on Monday 30th January, this is now in its fifth week of construction and is scheduled to be completed mid-March. This will allow the Random Team to hold more community focussed events including a regular dementia friendly café, bingo afternoons and other social groups.

In the first week we went from hole in the ground to frame and walls. Now we have a roof, doors, and windows!
We are so excited to be able to share our new build. The Garden Room will make an enormous difference to Random Café. It will allow us to offer hirable meeting space for local groups, this will also mean we will have the space to hold workshops and classes.
There is a lot going on behind the scenes now too, with sowing, planting, and repairs. Upcycling scaffolding boards to replace raised beds that have seen better days and our old fences are being given a new life as small fences to deter foxes from making holes in the polytunnels.
When the rejuvenation work is complete the gardens will be fully accessible for our volunteers and anyone attending the café or shop to enjoy.
