Our First Week at The Hub In Pictures – 13th April 2020
The mini markets worked well this week. We’ve had fruit, vegetables, LOTS of bread and bakery items and of course lots of cakes.
We have had a good response to our food boxes and some lovely feedback. These are available for people who are unable to get food from other sources. Email randomcafeuk@gmail.com if you, or someone you know, needs food.
The lovely people at Aldi, Watford have donated over 100 Easter Eggs to us this week. The Leavesden Green community Hub also donated over 50 eggs. Our little van, Penny, dropped off 60 Easter Eggs and some bottled water to Watford General Hospital. We also donated Easter Eggs to our local Mencap Residential care homes, who also donated leeks and bananas to our market.
One of our volunteers lives on a canal boat and took some of our left over food and made their very own mini market for their fellow boaters.
We love to see what people make with our produce. This beautiful photo is of some of the food Random has rescued from landfill this week. Very yummy.
If you have rescued from from Random Café please share photos of what you have made with it, using the hashtag, #made with saved
We will continue to be at Leavesden Green Community Hub during the emergency period.
If you need food come and visit 10 am till 12 pm or 1 pm till 3 pm
