If you’ve been up to the cafe recently, you’ll have seen that an exciting project is afoot! 

In the last few weeks building has started on our new community hub. The building will allow us to host workshops and events for the community and will also provide a low cost option for other community groups to hire out for their activities. If we’re having a busy day in the cafe, it will also provide an additional seating area, meaning even more people can help us save food from landfill! 

This second build has always been in our plans. Until now, we’ve only been able to host events and activities when the cafe is closed. Once the building is open it means we can offer these extra services up to six days a week. Not only is this great news for local residents and groups looking for an affordable meeting place, it will also help generate vital income to help us cover our running costs. 

Thanks to a grant from Watford Council’s Neighbourhood Fund, we’ve raised nearly all of the income we need to cover the build. However we still need to raise £6,000 to cover all building costs. 

We’ve launched a crowdfunder to help us raise these extra funds and we hope you’ll be able to help us hit our target.
